Catching Up....

It's been awhile since we've posted, so let's catch up a little. We've had a very busy spring and photographed a number of beautiful weddings in a variety of settings. To highlight a few, we've been to the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda...

Thanks to the staff (excellent as always) who let us park in the 10-minute parking area for 5 hours. And for not minding when we spent a little time on the putting green with the wedding party before the reception.

Since we're on the impressive-venue subject, the main atrium in the Hotel Jefferson in Richmond is a great spot for cocktails and hors deuvres...

And the ballrooms aren't too shabby, either.

In Virginia Beach, the Adam Thoroughgood House turned out to be a surprisingly nice location for pre-ceremony photos. (Sometimes historical sites are great to visit but not so accommodating for wedding parties; in this case the staff could not have been more gracious.)
The Lesner Inn, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and the Lynnhaven River, was a beautiful spot for an outdoor ceremony on the deck (as long as you don't mind the occasional congratulatory blowing horns from passing boats), and the main room was perfect for dining and dancing.

And on a water theme, our first visit to the Washington Naval Yard in D.C. was a lot of fun. The venue is great, and the bride was very happy with the job the staff did.

We even got the chance to hear a Grammy-winning singer perform a couple songs during the service. (How often does that happen at a wedding?) Regina Bell was amazing - not sure how the bride landed her for her wedding, but congratulations for pulling it off, and congratulations to Tonya and Kevin!
